This romantic bungalow by the sea is a 3-bedroom/2.5 bath house located directly on the beach. A walk out the street entrance gives you access to La Manzanilla’s restaurants, markets and stores along with the plaza and the church. A walk through the house and toward the rear sleeping porch places you less than 20 meters to the ocean.
This casa is a two-story stucco residence that is enclosed with a striking bamboo fence. The first floor offers a living area, full kitchen, 2 bedrooms (one queen and one twin beds) full bath and a sleeping porch, breakfast and dining area and a half bath.
Step beyond the sleeping porch toward the water and you are in one of the oldest beach side gardens in La Manzanilla. Having weathered the hurricane of 2015, old hibiscus, palms, bouganvilla and almond trees provide a lush covering of green shade and flowers. A smaller palapa at the water’s edge allows front row viewing of sunsets and late afternoon arrival of fisherman bringing in their catch of the day.
The second floor is a Master Suite that is covered with an extraordinary palapa (thatched roof). A walk out balcony runs the full length of the second floor offering panoramic views of the water, passing boats and stunning sunsets. The suite offers a full bath, sitting and dining areas and a kitchenette for early morning coffee and breakfast without leaving the suite. A laundry area with washer and dryer are located on the side veranda just off of the master suite. Windows are shuttered with screens.
The casa features Mexican tile that carries throughout both floors of the house. More than 34 different patterns are laid in identical sequence covering bathroom and kitchen countertops. The result is a space that feels cohesive and is filled with color. All bathrooms have vessel sinks and all beds have 100% cotton bed and bath linens. This home is comfortable and artistically furnished.
The greatest feature of the house is created by Mother Nature who gifts visitors with the sounds of the waves 24 hours a day. Amenities of the house include split AC systems in all bedrooms, Ceiling Fans through-out, Wireless Internet, Washer/Dryer, Cooktop, Oven, Microwave, Toaster, Coffee Maker, Blender, 100% Cotton Bath Towels and Linens. 1 king bed upstairs, 1 queen on the first floor, 2 twin beds on the first floor. There is mosquito netting above all beds.
La Manzanilla offers the raw, rocky and natural beauty of the Pacific coast of Mexico. It is a place to experience daily life in a fishing village. Small boats line the beach and the town has not been built up with hotels and condos. Only recently has an ATM been available in town.
Visiting La Manzanilla is like stepping back to a time when life was more relaxed than the cities of today. Children play with blow up floats and people gather to eat and play music in the town square. This casa is not secluded. It is in the heart of activity during holidays and fiestas.
